The wolves situation is something I understand very much both ways but in the end I believe the people that have to live and work around the wolves are the ones who should be deciding their fate and not people in NY or some other place that never sees them, doesn’t have their livelyhood effected and do not have their children playing in backyards that are within reach of the wolves.

the simple truth is that ranchers and wolves will never be able to live side by side. It is the wolves’ nature to kill the easiest prey and that will always be cattle or sheep.

short of hugely expensive fencing whether on the side of the ranchers or the wildlife side … is the only way they can exist in the same areas, or put up some sort of barrier any of which cost money.

Ranchers barely make it as it is. These are the same people who put that meat on your plate everyday.

I would perhaps feel differently if the wolves were down to numbers that were a threat to the species but the fact is that they are not endangered in other parts of the world. And probably never will be. Why they have to be found in areas where there are already ranchers established … I don’t understand.

to the rancher bringing in wolves is no different than if a bunch of … what we thought were extinct hackers and scrapers … were dumped into our environment because people who never get on line … thought it was needed because their numbers were depleting.

How many of you want one more scraper or hacker on the net?

that’s how the ranchers feel about the wolves and for the same reason. They seriously hurt business.
