I tend not to use iframes – just simple html banners – but hosted by the merchant where possible.
Can someone tell me the benefit of using i-frames or even javascript, over simple HTML?
I remember a year or two ago Commission Junction said they were going to drop the use of HTML for their affiliate banners, but after a lot of protests, they kept the option of html.
While I like banners that will be kept up to date by the merchant, like TheGoonerI, I do not want to use fancy flash banners. Also, while I am more than happy for the merchant to keep the banners up to date, I do not want to have text that is controlled by someone else, unless it is part of the banner – eg rolling odds etc.
