I like the idea of having the images hosted by the program and regularly maintained and kept current – and generally the current Bet365 solution works well. I’ve only noticed Bet365 being down a couple of times in the last 6 months – and that is acceptable.

So typically we do pull our images from Bet365 ad server.

However, we don’t tend to use IFRAMES, prefering to load a simplier GIF / JPEG image rather than some graphically heavy FLASH banner.

RELATED DISCUSSION :
SOME programs only offer javascript solutions, and a javascript will “hang” the page if the source site is down, meaning that the page will not continue to load. In this case I usually copy the image to my site, and link via a plain text link href to avoid issues.
(This means that they don’t get image counts in their system – but my pages load without issue even when they are out).

Additionally, SOME programs are also not as reliable as Bet365 and will be down more often – which results in an “ugly” hole when they are out. If I notice this more than once a month – then I’ll move to hosting the GIF/JPEG adverts on my site.
