Glad that you’ve entered the world of affiliate business – a world where good work really can deliver high return on investments.
Having been on both sides of the affiliate world my only advice to you is: forget the design for now, focus on your customer and his needs, make sure you deliver usable and quality content that, as much as it is possible, segments you from the other affiliate sites.
Content is good to be found on Google, but to convince your readers to play with you, then you need more than Google content.
