Renee if I was just ten years younger ….
I love your new picture btw: (also like queen)
Hi all, okay here’s my bitch.
for years when I struggled to make this internet thing work I was broke as could be: literally living on jar peanut butter and loaf of bread for groceries for the week (at times) … so I never had much money at Christmas. Especially after I’d lay some bucks on my kids so they wouldn’t have to feel like I did on Christmas day (most of my family has money … and I would have too if I’d stay’d in the family business and chose to bicker my life away) so anyway come Christmas day I was lucky to scrounge up enough to buy everybody a $20 gift.
which is seldom a situation where i can find any kind of decent gift for $20 … for people who IMO have everything as it is.
well with all the divorces and then those people re-marrying … I had about 25 to 30 people i absolutely had to buy for … (no drawing for gift buying etc in my family) which do the math … is about $400 you need …. so that you can show up to be embarrassed about what you’re giving.
This or similar situations happen round the world every year. Millions of dollars are spent on crap that we don’t need nor want … nor are proud to be giving …
so I have a suggestion I am trying to get passed my family and I think its going to work because of recent deaths in the family leaving basically us kids so I may try to change a few traditions.
I say instead of spending all that money on buying everybody a crappy gift they’ll need to either store or throw away …. that instead we all meet on Christmas and have the dinner all all the family stuff but instead of handing out crappy gifts we spent a small fortune buying … that we show each other the extremely nice gift we were (finally) able to afford to buy for ourselves.
(kids excluded from above of course) edited to add: because they should always get the lion’s share of Christmas gifts.
