I just got off the phone with the nicest guy! After mentioning UIGEA he know right away why I was calling (as others had called today as well) and told me what to do to voice my concerns.
I then proceeded to tell him that this affected me personally and he transfered me to the voice mail of the comment line for the Board of Governors office where I pleaded my case. That number is 202-974-7008.
He also gave me the following information for anyone that is interested:
Go to http://federalreserve.gov/aboutthefed/default.htm. Scroll down the bottom and click the contact us form and send to them.
The points I was told to make are below sent out by PPA:
Tell them:
* The federal agencies responsible for our nation’s economy should not be focused on Internet poker regulations.
* Finalization of the UIGEA rules will add additional burdens on our already crippled financial systems.
* Internet poker is a game of skill and form of recreation for millions of Americans; it should be exempted from the UIGEA.
* Please do not finalize the UIGEA regulations until their impact on our banking systems and average Americans has been fully studied.
