What are the two candidates policies on the ‘war on terror’ and do you think this had something to do with the way people voted?
John McCain is pretty much more of the same.
Barak Obama want’s to get out of Iraq, but increase troop presence in Afghanistan and push/shove/make Pakistan comply with US security requests (entering their tribal lands to pursue taliban/al quaeda).
In short the only real difference is their Iraq stance. Both would continue the war on terrorism.
I happen to support Obama on this stance, but i don’t think the world should think that all the US troops will be leaving the battlefield and heading home. I know a lot of Obama supporters and haters are conviced there will be peace when he comes in, i don’t think so.
I think the difference the rest of the world will notice the sound bites are different:
Where bush said about the terrorist coming to iraq: “I say Bring it On!”
Obama might say “We’re going to stand up and fight the Talbin until they’re willing to give up violence and work within a civil system”.
