I did not experience any violence in my touring around the city. I did hear from others that there were some muggings. I did a lot of walking around in the old Gothic part of the city at night and it did seem sketchy but so are a lot of big cities late at night.
I would be in favor of another CAP in Barcelona as it is one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
