Ooh – I turn my back on the forums for five minutes and the old Webroute = Cpays argument raises its head!
I am going to do my best to clarify everything here, as I have done a little research. Hopefully this will all make sense.
The fundamental issue here is that CPays are not Webroute, and are not connected as companies.
However, there are few factors that do cloud the waters, so lets see if I can explain it.
1. Webroute Services are based in Belgravia, London. We have 8 members of staff here, and the founder of the company has in the past worked for CPays – hey, you cant hold that against him, its a specialised industry and people go from one company to another in specialised sectors.
2. Ad-Gency are an advertising agency based out of Tel Aviv, Israel. They operate the Cpays Affiliate Marketing campaign in much the same way as say, TradeDoubler, Affiliate Future, Commission Junction and all the other Affiliate Networks operate.
3. Ad-gency also do our media buying (that is to say, mass campaigns based on CPM and impression based marketing (where a company pays for each *click* on a banner, as oppsed to CPA which is based on each result). Our Affiliate Marketing is all done in London, where I am.
4. When the poker tournament was set up, we sent the instructions to i-poker, who faciliate all tournaments set up under the Playtech brand. I-poker are based in Birmingham, England. Unfortunately they set the tournie up under the wrong brand, which is incredibly embarrassing for us, as it does insinuate that Webroute and Cpays are the same.
5. When this error was made, it was of coursed raised with CPays (as CDPoker is a CPays brand), and thats probably why David Bernstein contacted you as he would have thought that it was a CPays issue.
6. So, it does look like an almighty mistake was made an ipoker which helped reinforce the theories that Cpays and Webroute are the same company. Its something that since I have been at Webroute has surfaced a couple of times on various forums, and I daresay that it always will – after all, thats the double edged sword of the internet isnt it – a fantastic tool for disseminating information, but at the same time, if the information is wrong, it can be damaging too.
7. Does this all make sense?
