Today we are here in Virigina and visiting the Captain. The trip here yesterday was a little bit of an adventure. We had to go over some mountains outside Asheville and on the way down our brakes started to act up. Whenever you hit the brake pedal the steering wheel would shake. By the time we were half way down the vibration was pronounced and you could feel the whole van shudder when you used the brakes! This is not fun on a mountain with 7 people on board and probably a quarter ton of luggage. We punched in Honda Dealerships in the Nav system and found one 20 miles ahead of us. We went there and waited for three and a half hours as they turned the rotors on our brakes and checked out everything else. Happily that did it and when we left the van was back to normal.
Today I am not sure whats on the agenda, but I know tonight me and the Captain will be drinking Rum and Coke and passing the evening on his front porch. I will keep you guys posted on our further adventures.
Michelle its been much better then I thought possible. Generally when you get six females together with one male and confine them to a single vehicle for 7 to 10 hour stretchs the male ends up getting berated for at least two of those hours. So far, at the first sign of trouble, I throw on my Bose noise cancelling headphones and they turn their attentions elsewhere as its no fun beating me up when I cant hear.
Bose is a lifesaver!
