From what I have read, the following is needed to get sitelinks:
1. Process is automatic
2. Site needs to be over a year old
3. Need to have #1 spot for keyword for a year
If you have an established site and you search for your site name (IE for me if I search for casinodave, I also see sitelinks), you may find sitelinks.
When you have sitelinks, you have the ability to de-select a sitelink that is displayed, but do not have the ability to choose which sitelinks are shown. This is all done from Google Webmaster Tools.
