I think both templates are excellent. I really like the white backgrounds and the subtle web 2.0 touches.
As far as navigation goes you should somehow make a more obvious link to your index page from the wordpress page. I’m sure the blog will eventually enjoy better search engine listings and i’m sure you’ll want your readers to access your main site as well.
Other than that i think a job well done.
