Yes, there is a name you should refer to the packet, as – ‘The IGREA Initiative’. This is very important. You should say that a packet of papers was delivered on your behalf and ask if they recieved it. Once they say that they received it say how you strongly support the ‘IGREA Initaitive’ and that you would like them to sign on to co-sponsor Barney Frank’s bill HR 2046.
We delivered all the packets, mainly to secrataries, so it is important to follow up and ask if the congress person has had a chance to review the ‘IGREA Initiative’. If they haven’t yet, tell them you will call back in a couple days so that he/she has a chance to look the packet over.
We were told the most important part of this effort is the follow up calls and being that there are 435 congress people it will be difficult for us to call everyone, although we will try.
Professor, while we at CGW sincerely appreciate everyone’s appreciation, our efforts will be in vain if they are not backed up by a large scale phone calling campaign by people expressing their support for ‘The IGREA Initiative’. We had meetings with several prominent people in Washington who are lending their support in their own way, and we also spoke extensively with John Pappas from the PPA. We are hoping that the PPA will make calling their reps in support of the IGREA Initiative a big aspect of their near future iternaries.
We shall see what happens and in the meantime we will keep an eye on new co-sponsors signing on to Frank’s bill.
