I haven’t looked at the directory list lately, but most links from most directories aren’t worth beans. (There are exceptions: Yahoo, DMOZ, JoeAnt, GoGuides, BOTW are 5 directories which provide a real boost.)
But these new directories which are popping up right and left and who accept every submission rarely provide much of a boost in the search engines. I’d spend my time building content over submitting to directories. And I’d only submit to directories which lists sites I’d want my site associated with.
