GSN has responded to the thread pointed out by bb1webs. I made them aware that there are tracking issues for certain affiliates and that I would not approve their Terms until which time they resolved those issues.
Here is the quote from GSN about stats issues:
We note the Banner issues raised by Universal4, Mojo,and Techwoman ….. and are of the opinion that the problem may be as a consequence of incorrect scripts being used on the Affiliates site. Appropriate emails have been sent directly to the Affiliates concerned and we are following the matter up urgently. Once we have confirmed our suspicions and resolved the nature of the error we will update the Notice Board on GSN as well as GPWA with our findings.
To answer the question regarding the cookies;
“Can anyone at Golden Star confirm…if a webmaster uses a direct download link, or if a visitor downloads the software at the casino (providing the tracking has worked up until this point) will the affiliate id be embedded in the exe or is it based upon a cookie that was set at some point previously?”
Yes it will be imbedded into the exe, no affiliate data is stored in cookies.
Also, please note that the stats are updated every 24 hours, so Affiliates may not see their stats immediately. Please give some time for our synchros to run on our side before checking your stats.
