I would have to agree, someone definitely fed u BS , I really don’t think Professor would ever post such a thing knowing the upset it would cause with all the members? I think you should perhaps privately inbox him on how you received the info so he can figure this out. It is unfair to be wrongly accused of something without having let him look into it first. I believe u posted this as u were probably shocked when told it, but in my opinion I would have dealt privately with him first.
