Interesting idea Lou, but that ship has passed, teams that lose in the Super Bowl are usually done for, recent examples, Seattle, Carolina, Philly, Oakland, St. Louis, they were still decent the following season or two, but never reached that level of play again, not until they reformat the team, it’s tough to overcome a Super Bowl loss mentally.

I thought Griese should have been the #1 QB all year, the guy has never done anything wrong in his career, he just got burned out in Denver as they relied on his arm way too much, all he needed was a bit of a rest and freshening period.

The guy is a former Pro Bowler with multiple 3000 yard passing seasons, can scramble when necessary, has a career TD to Int ratio of 104-80, and his old man was a multiple Super Bowl winner and the QB for the 1972 perfect season Miami Dolphins

What a waste of a perfectly good QB

Just to explain the burnout thing a bit better, back in 2002, Griese’s final year with the Broncos(the one that killed his arm), he started 13 games, and in 4 of those games he was made to throw the ball 45+ times(53, 50, 47, 46 pass attempts)

In comparison to Manning, who is the most notorious frequent passer in the league, Manning threw the ball 45+ times…1 time in 16 games in 2006, 1 time in 16 games in 2005, 0 times in 16 games in 2004

It is a huge difference, and takes a toll physically, i doubt any QB could withstand that kind of physical abuse to an arm

My NFC Surprise for next year is none other than the Arizona Cardinals, the ultimate NFL loser since joining the league, i really like the looks of this team, if they grab one or two decent defensive players via the draft, look out, new coach Wisenhunt is awesome, he was the big reason Pittsburgh won the Super Bowl in 2005, giving him young QB Leinart(very good, future Pro Bowler), 2 best young WR’s Boldin/Fitzgerald(both Pro Bowlers), 4 time Pro Bowler James at RB, you might as well just forfeit the NFC title to these guys

These guys are young, fresh, and ready to kick some ass, interesting note about divisional opponents, Arizona had the best record vs their division this year, beating up all of them, Seattle, St. Louis, and San Francisco

Expect an offensive monster next year in the desert, they also got my buddy Kurt Warner, Super Bowl MVP, just in case, he’s gonna tutor this Leinart kid who has only started 11 games in his career, if you don’t know the $50 million kid… 3 years at USC, 3 Bowl games, 1 National Championship, 1 National Champioship game MVP, 1 Heisman Trophy, 1 Rose Bowl MVP, 1 Orange Bowl MVP, AP Player of the Year, ESPN Player of the Year, 1 Unitas Award, 1 Manning Award, etc, in just 3 years, incredible, plus he dated Paris Hilton, yes champ, yes…krist, the kid is only 23 years old.

You can call me a fool later but there is no way i pass on this 100-1 shot, just took them at betfair, too late, no more 100-1, i bought up all the shares, and if anybody else is gonna give me 100-1 i’ll buy them too.

If New Orleans can come within one game of a Super Bowl after going 2-14, then this team can one up em and maybe even win it all
