Yes it does suck… I can’t believe it has happened to be honest. I’m so careful with passwords etc. and yes ih82lose, i did everything you mentioned below. No words, included numbers and symbols with capitals etc and didn’t use the password anywhere else. I haven’t even logged into the account since November ffs.
I called paypal yesterday as soon as they opened and the guy on the phone said he would contact my bank and have the dishonour fees taken care of as well as refund the money back to my bank account.
Since there wasn’t enough money in the account, most of it has been refunded, apart from the transactions that were actually processed, which I’m still waiting on. Who knows how long it will be til they are returned.
I officially hate financial institutions.
