Poker certainly not like roulette – there is a significant skill aspect – but Texas Holdem is designed to also increase the luck factor as well. I’d put it at about 70% skill / 30% luck.
And the million hands arguement is a bit weak. Many players are able to get into a winning situation during a session and take a profit.
Additionally – haven’t you heard of the blackjack tournaments?
No house involved simply be the best player at your table to move on.
