Funny, i’ve come to Canada from the US and know more about Canada than most of the canadians i know from this industry. :) Fortunately, my lawyers, accounts, stockbrokers, etc. seem to know more than me.

Canada, even 1 mile from detroit, is different from the US. I can tell you there is a great deal of disdain toward the US legal system by the Canadian lawyers i’ve met. People here think americans are gun crazy and some are afraid to cross the border into detroit. It’s a place where prosecutors are difficult to recruit, because it’s not a political office and prison sentences aren’t calculated by decade.

After 3 years here, i’m happy that i get to stay, but i already think the taxes are too high and the bureaucrats too eager to obstruct. I’m told that this means that i’m Canadian. I’ve been told it’s because I’m an American. So that settles it.

BTW – I don’t solicit customers in Canada upon advice of my lawyer. I do play poker online, because any gambling wins are tax free in Canada! :cheers:
