The WinHTTrack program leaves a comment tag at the top and bottom of each page. I just remove them when I move sites from one server to another. Being in the hosting business for 7 years, I have found this to be the easiest method when someone switches their hosting to me.
Mirror depth= depth of internal/external links it will follow and download along with the site. I usually set it to 2 max, otherwise it will pull whole directories from other sites when all you really want is 1 link or banner
