Here’s another interesting thought:

I hear that some PT’s are looking to RTG as a way to reach the American players. That these PT’s would offer two software platforms.

Now, what do you suppose the odds are that — if these casinos used the databases to email players and get them new accounts on RTG — that the affiliate would still get credit for the player they originally brought in?

I’ll tell you what the odds are: Between ‘d!ck’ and ‘none’.

Of course, that would mean affiliate programs would need to actually take the effort to email players… and we all know how reluctant they are to do that. Oh but wait, this would make a difference to their bottom line, not ours. They may do it, then.

Believe me, there are still some very good affiliate programs out there! There are some who are taking US players, helping to get the word out, and sticking by the affiliates like the partners they all claimed we were. But I hope the rest of the affiliate programs, the ones silently screwing us, understand the following:

This industry has a good chance of survival. Affiliates will forgive them for making difficult business decisions… even if it sucks for us right now. But we have long memories when it comes to sticking one up our backsides.
