WHy is Bush waiting till the last possible day to sign this bill? Friday is Day 10, where if not signed it would be sent back to stand on its own in congress, which would be great!….So why is he deliberatly waiting till the last day to sign a bill that everyone seems to believe will be most definitely signed, i mean he signed a couple of bills last week, he could of signed it then if it is such a shoe in?? why wait???
My guess would be one of the following:
1) He’s busy, and that was the earliest he could do it;
2) More than likely – he’s waiting as long as possible, so that the
signing will be as close to elections as possible. This bill (Ports
and gambling) are vote-getters, not vote-losers. He wants his
contituency to have recollection of these signings, when they go
to the polls;
3) The only other possible reason (and I know that it’s the reason that
we would all want), is that there are some issues with the bill, as it
currently stands. Doubtful, but who the hell knows ???
