If i feel the sites i’m offered to buy are sites with good potential and i can’t afford them or they will require more work than i can do (i have 10 sites of my own already). I offer the sellers a legal way out via 50/50 partnership. I’ll host the sites outside the US and if required, i am willing to have the domain under my name.
I believe this is fair as the potential seller can stay in the business and keep developing his site/sites while earning from them for a long time.
This is of course open for discussion and can certainly help US residents to keep their heads above the water.
