Bernie the developers are making progress and we are starting to refine the tool. They need clarification on one item and I offered a suggestion based on their first mock up. Since this is your brainchild I want your input as well for the programmers:

First here is mock up of tool, its very basic and NOT anywhere near a final product. Check it out:

Here’s my response after previewing the tool as I noticed the results being returned didnt match up with Google for me:

Quote:
Prasad where are the search results being pulled from below?

They should be Google and it would be helpful if the searcher could also select yahoo via a tick box to the right of the search button. Results would then be displayed in two clearly labeled columns with Google being the column on the left and Yahoo being the column on the right.

Here are the developers questions:

Quote:
Further details on Link #2( Affiliate T&C Violation) functionality specified below. If you
can send us how you want this functionality to be created, we can proceed along those lines.

here is what they are refering to:

Quote:
Link #2) Affiliate T&C Violation If you select this link the program will send out our own spider to find out what programs are being promoted on the offending site as well as the affiliate IDs of the offender. It should also be able to easily deal with straight re-directs.

Program then automatically generates emails to the affiliate programs reporting the offender so they can ban the account.

PART II:
We employ is a “centralized server” that collects our collective reporting in one place. It would update as we submit complaints. For instance if I report a bad site not only do the affiliate programs and google get an email about it, but our “centralized server” also gets the information providing a few extra features:

When the user clicks on the second link we can execute a script to fetch the programs that are being promoted on the offending site and affiliate IDs.
For us to be able to do that, we would need a fixed format in which the programs are listed or specific key words that we can search and parse for. Please provide further details on this and let us know if you can create a set of keywords that we can search for to identify the programs.
