just be straight and honest about it, like Dom said. Otherwise one day you might find yourself entangled in the little network of white little lies of your own doing heh :] Except for Cpays, all are reasonable and will understand it.
Or if you still are not willing to be straightforward, use this little trick: give them an example of a deal that have with the partner on this certain spot (CPA or RevShare, and make it 3 x the deal) and put it straigh: if you can beat that offer, the placement is yours. they rarely do :laughing:
