I always use an add-in to Firefox which tells me if my page is coded correctly 
It’s called the Tidy HTML Validator. If I get the green checkmark, I know I have coded well!
One of the problems, though, is that most affiliate programs code their links with & instead of using & amp ; (no spaces of course).
That always throws off the validators.
