If you are attracted to the biz, go for it. I wouldn’t worry too much about legislation. I started in February telling all my clients not to worry. We are 20 working days away from all bills dying. It’s a yearly tradition at this point.
As to state law, you won’t find California joining the ranks of Washington state anytime soon. That was a lobby play. The Indian casinos have more pull up there–among other influences.
Like Dominique said, put in those hours. Don’t think you are just going to put up a 4 page website and go party.
