That whole affair was out of character from what I’ve experienced dealing with Affiliate Managers. However, Henry’s attitude isn’t unique to the industry. How many times have each of us tried contacting an Affiliate Manager and had our emails ignored repeatedly. I know I have. Then all of a sudden an email comes from this same Affiliate Manager wanting to know where their banner is.
Currently, my entire focus is now on my forum. With over 30 poker sites it’s gotten impossible to promote each of their sites with banners as the load for carrying them puts too much strain on visitor’s browsers. So now I only use text links on my marquee. Sure I’ll put up a banner to promote a site. If it’s got something worth promoting. As of now only one site out of over thirty have anything worth promoting on my forum.
When I have more time my website is going to follow this trend and I’m going to eliminate the casino, sporting bet and bingo pages along with my affiliation to those sites as well to focus entirely on poker.
To any Manager who wants to know where their banner is my official answer is “right where you left it.” You want a banner displayed give me something to promote other than that stupid banner.
