I think you have to realize that for affiliates there are hundreds of affiliate programs to choose from, including at least 100 microgaming casinos to promote.
Affiliates usualy give better exposure to the best converting and player retaining casinos. If an affiliate reduces the exposure it gives to a certain casino it’s because the casino or affiliate program is not pulling its weight. Or else the affiliate has a better deal with a different affiliate network such as higher commission.
Most of the casino programs have ideal terms. Such as you get the player for life no matter how much new traffic is sent.
You can then understand the gut reaction when a program contacts an affiliate with the ‘promote us or else’ threats. Usualy the affiliate has so little invested in that program that they would prefer never again to deal with the program versus having the potential of future players being stolen.
All it takes is a whale to earn a lot of money, I would therefore prefer to have a tiny link on someones website or the opportunity of an affiliate choosing to promote them later on versus alienating that same affiliate.
That said I have earned decent money with Vegas Affiliates. I realize that a lot of anger and resentment is going both ways and I hope that things can amicably end. I recommend that Amcan’s affiliate account be reopened and that the terms and conditions be reviewed concerning closing affiliate accounts.
I cant imagine inactive accounts take that much room in the database that it is stored in.
