Yes google likes blogs and newsfeeds. But for ordinary websites they prefer websites that are ancient and have had no activity for quite some time. It’s at least the trend i’ve noticed.
I’ve actually had to force myself to quit updating a lot of my websites.
Of course this is all opinion and speculation anyway.
