I live in Washington State just across the Columbia River from Oregon. The indians are the ones who have lobbied for this law to go from a misdemeanor to a felony.
The Cowlitz tribe are trying to build a casino just up the road in Washington State about 15 miles from Portland. It’s going to a monster casino … more slots than Bellagio. They have gotten backing from the Mohegan Tribe on the east coast for a partnership deal and are up to their eyeballs in cash. .
From what I understand they threw around some big bucks at the legislators in Olympia and got this done. They want it all…. Every freaking gambling dollar in Washington State. They’re serious about it too. They are also going to want this law enforced. They won’t sit back and watch it be ignored. The worst part is that they aren’t going to be targeting the players… they are going after the bad boys … I guess that’s me.
If you think I’m scared …you’re right. Don’t underestimate these Indians. They got money and they got juice.
