Depends on how the cookie is set up.
The majority of programs now have session cookies, where they expire in no more than 3 days. They can be overridden by a new one if the player clicks from another webmaster’s link.
A couple, like Referback, have eons long cookies, that may never expire. So, the first hit will always get the player.
