Perhaps you could advise Congressman Wexler that Congress is not empowered to protect the rights of the states – the states do that themselves Congress’ mandate is to protect the rights of the nation and thus if he intends to allow states to determine their own positions, he should
be voting AGAINST a federal act.
Furthermore, let him know that many, if not most, operations are also in favor of paying taxes, whether they be state or federal taxes, in order to operate legally within their jurisdictions. By supporting any federal prohibition, he will be unwittingly helping to drive these operations further underground, and thus undermining his own government and state by depriving them of funds which they would receive from legalized online gambling.
