Actually, as I’m sure many affiliates who are on the new wager model will attest (c’mon guys, back me up here), the Wager Model will earn more money annually for about 98% of affiliates.
You have to fit a very specific profile (which almost nobody satisfies) to earn more on the RevShare model … why the heck do you think we brought it out? The company is large enough to be able to offer a program like this. You don’t see many other programs offering this (yet) because you need to be large enough, from a cash flow perspective, to be able to pay affiliates even when your paying players (i.e. when players win… hence how you don’t get zeroed out when a player wins on the Wager Model).
This model is more expensive for us to run … it’s not a cost savings measure … don’t you think if all aff’s started earning less they’d just go in the other direction and push somebody else? I think as we continue to buy up the competition, i.e. integrity and now our more recent acquisition … I think you guys have to know that this company is in this for the long run & as traditional forms of media are harder and harder for casino’s to get involved in … that means we’ll be even more reliant on affiliates over the long term. You guys are a huge part of our business … and the company doesn’t want to ever jeopardize that. Period.
Maybe the underlying principle has gone unmentioned in all of this … this model was brought forward with full 35% profit share so we can pay affiliates more than the next guy AND provide the detailed player level stats … if we’re paying more and giving you more info, then we think in the long run affiliates will send their traffic to us instead of the next guy …
BJF, I’m not just being contradictory for the sake of it … you are one of the few affiliates who do earn more on RevShare … so I can understand your point of view (and you are correct for your account, but let’s face it … not everybody sends the specific type of players that you do – in fact, there are only about 6-7 of you guys).
So, to 98% of affiliates … you will earn more annually on the True 35% Wager Model.
