To receive this free money, and if I already have an account, I must open a new one. Checking PP terms and conditions, I can only have ONE account.
Say I joined PP under Dom’s(sorry for using you Dom) tracking code and after reciving this promo from this aff, I do exactly what he says to get my free money, aren’t you a victim of possibly “theft by swindle” Dom. Is this aff now earning commission from me and not you, and is this aff breaking PP terms and conditions?
Somewhere there is an older thread for PP that was never clarified properly.
There is some feature there where affiliates can put money into player accounts, and something about the player then being able to switch to that affiliate’s account. Something about the affiliate who is able to incentivise more deposits deserving to have the player…
Not sure if that feature still exists.
Also, while most poker rooms do not push rakeback loudly anymore, most of them do actually allow/encourage theft.
The reason for this is simple.
Right now only 10-15% of players use rakeback. These 15% are high rollers and every pokerroom wants to have them. For that reason the rooms offer rake back. The thing is that when rakeback spreads across the industry and affects 50% of the players, the operators will get decreased revenue as well as the affiliates, affiliates who made 30% MGR will make 3%.
Given this, it is in the current best interest of most rooms to quietly support theft of players. This helps them gain/retain the big players they want while not making too much noise about rake back to newer players.
Microgaming for instance forbid Prima rooms to use the word rake back. However, there is no rule about offering it or about encouraging the theft of players.
Unfortunately Poker has been allowed to become a totally unethical branch of the gambling industry. Where casinos have been cleaning up their act, poker as been sliding into a pit of theft and deception.
There are exceptions, but not very many.
Given that, I expect there to be a big fallout in poker. For several reasons. The fad will wear off, there are way too many competing rooms out there, and rakeback will eventually do away with the profitability.
