Hi Dom,
this is actually the 3rd time this has happened to me. looking at my source coding, my aff ID was in the code, but when you click on it, someone else’s code was in the browser. It wasn’t something Referback did and I don’t know the how it was done, but an affiliate was able to redirect my link to theirs.
Another thing that was done which really got me upset which forced me to remove the gaming club poker from my casino site was – visitors don’t just click on a link and download right away. They like to navigate. As I was navigating throught The gaming club poker site as I was just about to get my poker site live and was looking for the right landing page into gaming club.
As I was navigating, I kept looking at my address bar to make sure my aff ID was still embedded, whic it was. I noticed a poker link that was sponsored by the gaming club for a ladies night weekly event, something like lips poker or similar to that.
I thought it looked interesting so I clicked on it and noticed my tracking disappeared so hit the back button. Now when I did that, a different aff ID was now being tracked. I thought whoa this won’t work because if a visitor that I send to this site and navigates as I did and decides to go back into the gaming club to download, then a different affiliate is getting the credit from my visitor.
I thought something was wrong so I contacted Cobus, and I was shocked to learn that an affiliate was sponsoring this event and the gaming club poker has this affiliates link on their home page. I went to gaming club poker through a different affiliate and clicked on this ladies night banner and hit back and the original aff lost his tracking and was now being tracked by the affiliat that was sponsoring the poker tournament.
Is it just me or is that just not right? I would think this affiliate should have his own GC landing page and not gaming clubs main page.
