I like your post! I agree with it and think you speak the absolute truth. Ironically, the only part I dissagree with is this:

This is Washington we’re talking about, where truth is not only perspective, it is sometimes moot as well.
If logic and truth and common sense were what went on in the capital, I wouldn’t worry about it. But so many stupid things happen… so many things that seem to defy the very fabric of logic and reason… that nothing would shock me at this point. :unhappy:
