Quaint Canadian custom there Mir …
Is it a special Toronto way of greeting friends?
:hehe:

I don’t buy and sell domains for a living mate – I don’t know many that do (successfully).

But if you actually want to discuss the principals then …

While I understand that the idea is to buy low and sell high – generally you have to develop a site name (no matter how catchy) before it will appreciate in value.

Finding possible 3-word domain name like MillionDollarLadies.com or MirPeesFreely.com doesn’t turn them into $25,000 items or even $250 items without a site structure, good traffic and a reasonable revenue stream.

I’m sure that you’ve bought a lot of 2-word and 3-word domain names … but all it does is take a name out of use … it doesn’t give it any special rarity or desirabily.

The idea that a great domain name is an instant path to riches is long gone.

I remember that the domain business.com sold for $1,000,000 about 8-10 years ago, back in the days of early interent and started the whole thing. Go take a look at it now.

It has a brand name – it has a PR of 7 – but so what?
When you get there do you really think any more of the site because it’s called business.com ? No.

With the development of search engine as the prime mechanism for finding websites now there is less of a reason to hyave a website domain name that is immediately memorable for type-in traffic.

At least that’s my honest opinion.

Mir,
You’re obviously in the industry – and will be familiar with a lot more sites and selling lists than I am … so you’ll be able to tell us.

What are the last 10 domain names to sell for over $1,000,000 and what did they reach? I’d love to know?
:bored:

How about listing 10 empty domain names that have sold for over $100,000 in the last year? Has it happened?
:bored:

I can understand big money being paid for profitable businesses with revenue streams … but not for a domain name. So instead of pissing on a comment … tell us actual selling prices.
