Dear Everyone,
My name is Anthony. My dad, BingoT, has just shown me this specific post that I happen to be part of as well. I am currently a 10th grader that was already interviewed and accepted to participate as a member of the People to People Student Ambassador Program to Europe this summer of 2006. The objective of the program is to promise international understanding while building leadership skills among America’s youth. The 20-day experience includes interaction with other students my age, educational activities, home stays with host families and so much more!

To let you understand this program, I shall discuss about the history background. President Dwight D. Eisenhower founded the organization in 1956. He believed that if people from different cultures could come together in peace and friendship, so eventually would countries. Since its founding, People to People has launched many international programs, including Sister Cities, Project HOPE and Pen Pals.

People to People Student Ambassadors are carefully interviewed and evaluated before their acceptance and I am honored to have been selected. Personally, I am looking forward to broadening my perspectives of the world and gaining a better understand of Europe. Within my school, I am currently taking Spanish and French, both with a passing grade of an A average. Also, I have been selected as Student of the Month for September in the Foreign Language Department of my school. I am very pleased to take these classes and especially having the greatest opportunity to use my knowledge of French that I have learned in France.

Upon my return, I plan to share my experience with everyone that I come across to in my life. As an Ambassador, I can also earn high school and college credit because of the many educational elements in my program.

The tuition is $5200, which includes all transportation, accommodations, meals and educational activities. I am very pleased to take this opportunity to tell you all that I hope you have an awesome summer of 2006, just as I will. Hope you all have an awesome day as well!

Sincerely yours,
Anthony T
