I pretty new to this but The Gooner is right do the content first and worry about promoting later. I would worry about your front page first, optimize it first. Many will disagree with me but I have had great success with loading my front page with content as in actual writing. Also I have better success with banners than i do with text links. My site should be done around 2009 because of all the content will be my own work. Believe me its alot of work. Even the poker dictionary, which you spelt wrong (dictionnary) typed word to word.
