If you can pick up an active domain that has been in existence prior to Julyish 2004, you should be able to avoid the sandbox. That’s approximately the timeframe that Google instituted the sandbox for all new domains. Older domains haven’t experience the same issue. But, this is all theory, you will only know for sure by trying it out.
