Hey guys,
Again.. Without naming the aff program, can anyone come up with a valid reason? Is this normal? I don’t want to worry about this day after day… It’s frustrating because right now the difference is $1500 and it just keeps widening.

Of course you’d be better off directing this at your affiliate program who would be able to tell you exactly what is going on … but … here are some general thoughts.

Firstly, Casino NET revenue will probably never be equal to Purchases .. because the Casino will have to pay fees for the deposit whether it is credit card or netteller. Generally this can be between 3%-4.5%.

Secondly, if the Casino pays a bonus to the customer then guess what happens? Yep – it’s recorded as an acquisition charge and comes off the net revenue.

Thirdly, it is plausible (although not too common) for customers to deposit (purchase) and withdraw amounts during different sessions. Remember that the customer doesn’t know about card charges and so doesn’t realise that the churn of funds is costing you cash.

Finally, there may also be some casinos that charge various fees for other promotional stuff as well. One of my sportsbooks regularly aporaches lapsed customers with a small cash incentive to start using them again …

So it all comes off the gross revenue … bringing a significantly lower NET revenue … and certainly based on some of the posts here it seems that Casino’s are commonly applying other charges onto affiliate accounts too. Legal? or scamming? no-one seems too sure.

But one thing is fairly sure … you’ll never get to claim 100% of a players purchase as an affiliate NET revenue.

As I said at the start you should contact your affiliate manager and see if they can provide a breakdown of the charges … any genuine business will surely have all that to hand to pass basic audit practices…

Good luck KWBlue – let us know what you find out.
