Hi,
thanks Prof. a great way to put it.
it still IMHO is for lack of better words, damage control. And I hope all sponsors take note that this was not something anybody wanted to do; that our hands were absolutely forced and now we have the situation where if I were looking at all this unfolding from a player’s point of view;
(and I’m not looking for anything that truly isn’t there): but I would be thinking just what i said. “what’s up with all this? one day they’re not to be trusted; the next day (okay, it was a few weeks but as a player, .. I may not have known about it until just recently; and then all of a sudden I see – or rather don’t see the warning list any more. We’re talking some big names here that as a player I would have been watching very closely once I became aware of the situation.) but anyway then they are telling me that the places now had come back into line…
I hope sponsors see where I’m going with this.
I am not condemning anything that happened, but rather am pleased it didn’t get uglier. But my point is that it didn’t have to happen at all; but since our hand was forced; that there are now circumstances which have been created to put us all in a bad light.
that’s what I meant about who is minding the store? it looks from a players point of view as being a bad situation no matter what kind of twist you put on it. which would make me as a player wonder just WHO is in charge of things? Professionalism is not a word that would rush to my mind when taking this all into consideration.
I will follow Jenny’s and Prof’s advice and explain it as “well good news! These programs have come around …”
I hope sponsors everywhere have watched and seen what has happened and will not again allow things to go so far as we are forced to be in a situation such as this most recent matter. If there is a problem; communication should stay open, prompt, and be reasonably flexible in order to not have to air our dirty laundry in the public eye again!
That they realize we want to be successful for them. That for every dollar we bring in to them, that there in no getting around the fact they are getting easily enough to both show a lucrative profit and pay for any and all of the operating costs for the affiliate program.
treat us with fairness and instead of always fighting to get a fair deal; we’ll fight to tell everyone what a fair place it is that you run.
thanks for listening. I hope l was able to make everyone understand that I’m not bitching because things worked out; but rather that they had to involve the public eye, and that we sat there and predicted what would happen; and that by not believing us; seeing the future without it actually happening; that we find ourselves here now ….
and who knows? it may not be over. …sigh.
