Apparently, godaddy has shut down their domains due to spam abuse.

I’ve heard about this before, it’s a disgrace. The registrar of the domain name should not have the power to shut down your domain without legal proof.

Last time I heard this happen was when someone sent in a complaint about spam and godaddy shut down the domain without asking any questions. It turned out to be a mistake and it took the owner of the domain almost a week to get his site back up.

I advise anyone who uses godaddy to move the domains to another registrar bacause it might just take a single false complaint (or someone hacking your server to use your mail for spam) from a rival to shut your site down.

If your hosting company shuts you down you can move your site and have it back up within an hour, if your registrar shuts down your domain you can do nothing until they fix it.

Even if fortune didn’t spam and shut down the accounts of any aff that did then they would still need to catch the spamming aff first to shut their account. If godaddy got the complaint first then it would make no difference how proactive fortune were at expelling spamming affs, godaddy might still shut them down – BEWARE OF GODADDY (wild west are godaddy by another name)
