I used Textpattern to build the site, I used to use this free sofware to build other sites as well (when my clients don’t want a specific solution). It has a bit long learning curve in the beginning, but after your first site you can make a site like mine in 3-4 days. It has very good SEO features (like clean urls, page rendering in XHTML/CSS, and a backend administrator interface where you can update your site just by typing the content and upload files, images, etc). Last but not least it has a great community forum, where ppl can help you in any issue. It can accelerate your site updates because you dont have to edit all your pages manually and dig in the code.
There are a lot of other tools like this out the web, Movable type, WordPress, Symphony, and they are easy to learn and could make your life easier and most of them are free.
Good luck!
I’m redoing my site and set up the layout to look more like yours, instead of the original banner farm i had going, here’s a quick preview
http://www.superiorgaming.net/poker/
the 3 column page looks better than what i have at the moment
http://www.superiorgaming.net/pokerrooms.html
Following the advice of the people here, who reviewed my site, they were in fact correct, i think the new page looks much better than the depressing navy blue, as somebody mentioned.
Thanks for the help with your hosting suggestions
Would you believe that the problem was between Aplus and my isp provider Rogers, they got their DNS signals scrambled. It still doesn’t work for me, or anyone who uses rogers, i have no way of knowing if it works for everyone else, here is the url i can’t see, but everyone who doesn’t use Rogers can apparently
http://www.superiorgaming.web.aplus.net/poker/
removing the web.aplus. from that url makes the page work properly, but it’s supposed to work either way, because they are the same.
3 hours of tech assistance, and i learned what reproprigate means
How does something like this happen, it worked fine, but the last couple months it hasn’t worked.
We did a check, typing in the ip address in the navigation passed the test, typing in the url brought up a yahoo search page, it should’ve brought up my site.
What does that mean, is Yahoo responsible for something here.
