I signed up with WJ but I don’t think I’ve ever sent a player their way, so this is more a comment on the whole situation than specificaly about WJ.

Many of the casinos on the net wouldn’t be around if it wasn’t for the affiliates, they probably wouldn’t have lasted 3 months. When a lot of these places opened the CPM’s for ads were skyhigh and the only way they could get some advertising out there was to use affiliates or have a huge ad budget (which we know many didn’t have when starting out)

Now that they’ve gathered a strong player base using affiliate’s ‘free’ advertising (and other advertising systems have now come down in price) they’re trying to offload the now expensive affiliates.

We have all done the donkey work for these casinos for years (and have been paid well for it) but now they are starting to reneg on their lifetime player payments agreements and we need to do something about it.

As for Greg’s post. I will welcome the removal of the non payment to inactive affiliates clause. This not only breaks they’re aggrement with affiliates but was also terribly worded (I hate those clauses which are unclear or ‘will not be used, but are there to protect us’).

The other clause change about reduced payments at first looks reasonable but isn’t this just the thin edge of the wedge? Once they have made one major change to the T&C will they not feel like they can make further changes at a later date? This one also helps keep us in line for those future changes, if we don’t like a change that is made later then this clause will reduce the payments of those who protest by removing links.
