Yeah, it is a bummer when I send people to pages that don’t work. When that happens, it makes my own site look bad. Surely my visitors won’t stick around or bookmark my site after this happens to them a few times. :Ohno:
The least you could do is redirect the referrals to a backup landing page on another server, or something. Anything besides the white “This page cannot be displayed” page.
I wonder how many thousands of dollars are lost for each hour the network is down? I imagine the losses are quite significant.
