A forum is like the livingroom of the owner. We are all his or her guests.
Even though it is ok to toot your own horn, you are also expected to contribute something constructive in return.
When you come to someone’s house over and over, you will bring some flowers or a bottle of wine or whatever as a sign of appreciation.
Just using someone’s place without contributing is not generally considered good manners.
