Better for higher rankings, but can really be annoying for other webmasters if they have to go through their directory page and change your anchor text. If your old anchor text is part of your new keywords then I would say leave it.
If the new keywords are completely different then maybe you should rethink changing your targeted keywords (or make a new site for the new keywords).
